View Full Version : Monitor Audio RX1 Time to change - or not?
My recent hifi journey started with my wife putting a finger through a driver on my old Celestion DL6's which were briefly replaced initially with Q Acoustics 2020i quickly replaced poor bass response) with my current Monitor Audio RX1. Since that time I have changed turntables and amplifiers four times and cd players three times. My most recent changes have been to Audio Analogues most excellent Paganini and Puccini SE CD player and amp. TT is a Sony PS X70. The RX1's are perhaps a modest speaker but have been trusted companions through the changes. With the AA amp and CD player I have been amazed with the results from these speakers. But is it time to change? Could a speaker upgrade reveal more of what the sources and Amp do? If so what to go for? Upgrade the MA food chain - RX2, RX6 or GX 50's? Sonus Faber Concertino's? Budget woud be in the region of £500.
Thoughts and suggestions welcomed.

Hi Nick, did you decide to change your speakers, if so what to? jim
Hi Jim,
No, I decided that I really like what I am hearing so sticking with the RX1's! In my humble opinion these are quite remarkable little speakers.
Cheers, Nick
I see you have a few Pioneer items of kit. I have to say I think that Pioneer stuff is great and much underrated. I have had 4 Pioneer amps, liked them a lot.

I like the pioneer amp ,a fit and forget bit of kit, the blue ray player is good but unresponsive with CD's, I gather some blue ray players can be.
