Name Change

Hi (again) all,
Some members have noticed my today's username change and have been interested enough to ask what's behind it. To save anybody else wondering if they ought to ask about it I thought I'd post a brief explanation here.
I was adopted very young and throughout my life at home I had a very difficult relationship with my step-father. Now, at the tender age of 69 and 1/4 my family have, en masse, decided to terminate any connection with him. Accordingly we all decided to go for one of those Deed Poll whatsits and have changed our name from Clarke to Kendrick - simple as that !
If anyone else has contemplated this at any time be sure that's what you really want - the simple cost of doing the Deed Poll is not a problem or particularly expensive but the hassle and costs of officially notifying everyone who needs to be notified (not to mention you guys ;) ) is a real ball acher.

Nick, thanks for the kind words. It might appear strange to you (it pleasantly surprised me) but as a family we discussed it some years ago and somehow I formed the opinion that my family were in favour merely as a gesture of support so I didn't pursue it. A month or two ago the subject got raised again in relation to another matter and it became very apparent that I was the least enthusiastic of us all, so this time we've done it.
Feels better already !!:)

Good for you Dave! More strength to your elbow (or whatever the phrase is).

It's probably has been a difficult and bureaucratic nightmare for you, but we are happy to embrace you as 'DaveK'. We know that you are still the 'challenging' Dave that we have come to know on AoS.

Oh yes, Kendrick's good, I got no problem with it. Mind, tad difficult to adjust for such a young 'un, but us humans are very adaptable animals, you'll feel strange when you hear Clarke in no time at all.

Change is good, most times, you know... :) For instance DaveK sounds so much better than DaveC, doesn't it? Look at all that cool stuff: MajiK, ClassiK just a couple examples off the top of my head :lolsign:

Don't think it would work for getting your pension and I have my doubts about the long term viability of the others. However, the upside is that whilst you are residing at Her Majesty's pleasure you'd have plenty of time, help and encouragement to comply with big brother's requirements :lol: .
