View Full Version : It's me
Hi there
I'm from Germany, Musiclover, Photografer and Teacher. Hope to have some good discussion about our passion.
Hi Marco, do you remember many years back? Your visit at my home in Germany, briks etc?
Hi Hermann,
Hermann? :D Goodness me, how the devil are you, old chap? Hope you are well.
Really good to hear from you, and a big warm welcome to AoS! Slightly different from the old Mana forum here, isn’t it? ;)
Have you still got your Briks, all that Mana and your Stealth mono blocks? If so, we need some pics!! Enjoy the forum, and I hope you become a regular part of the AoS community
Marco.
welcome to AoS Hermann. Obviously you know Marco from old so thats great.
hope you enjoy the forum and hope to see some pictures of your gear in the gallery section soon.
regards grant
Thanks Marco and struth
yeah its me, Hermann the German.
I'm fine and yes still have that lot of metal and briks and Stealth. No need to swap against other brands.
I guess you remember our flat but moved to much bigger one but slightly smaler livingroom 8 years ago. And it seems briks dont work. Currently changing internal crossovers (Falcon/modified) against orignal Linn internals. Well a really bad story because you wont believe it but switched system off for long time. Hope to get it sorted these days. Pictures will follow later because briks are under investigation. Alot of soldering to do. Currently use old Linn Nexus which I usually use in my Fotostudio.
Yes style is much different to old mana forum. Wondering where all the old chaps are gone.
Hi Hermann,
Yeah I know you went through a bad patch after falling out rather spectacularly with JW [who didn’t?] (and who incidentally runs a bed & breakfast business now with Julie), should that be what you’re referring to, in terms of your hi-fi system being switched off for a long time.
A lot of the ‘old crew’ from the Mana days are on pfm (Pink Fish Media), such as fox (now Clive Grace), IanW, Vuk, Steve Toy, Jonathan Ribee, Paul Ranson, Artist (Del), Blzebub, Stumo, John (I forget his Mana username), Markus S (now a moderator there), and a few others, although not all of them contribute regularly.
Do you still have those ‘interesting ornaments’ in your bathroom :eyebrows: and how is your good lady keeping (I forget her name)?
I still remember that wonderful meal she cooked that night, and the ‘view’ from the balcony looking down onto your Briks, on Phase 17 Mana (or whatever it was). If you still have those pics somewhere, as well as of your new place, I’m sure the members would find them rather fascinating!
Marco.
Hi Marco,
JW experience wasnt that bad for a periode but then he decided to rip me of. Bad story indeed. Thats not the reason for switching system off. Reason was simply bad sound and its sorted yesterday. Due to a really nice guy at pfm, I got original Linn internal crossovers to replace Falcons. They causes my problems with system. Spend some hours yesterday removing Falcon against Linn. The result is amazing. But system seems to need more time for braking in, because switched it on 3 weeks ago.
I see the old chaps. Beeing at pfm from time to time but currently spend not much time at forum. Running my own business since 12 years and, as you probably know, it needs time, much time.
Ah yes Guddy. She said hello to you and your wife and really appreciate you remember her.
Yes briks still there with alot of Mana (some of them I build by myself) Stealth and Naim. Well as I said lost interest in music for years because briks never done it into my room (not the flat you vidited us). As we moved we needed more space, more rooms and a dedicated photostudio. Music wasnt on the top list.
But know I found my way back to music. After a 12 hour session today I can honestly say I like it again.
As for new pictures of system, yes will post next days. Which probably means the story (discussion) of the whole lot of mana will go on.
Cheers,
Hermann

Thanks for welcome guys, hope will be interesting
Sure you want to see my system? :)
Yes, very much! Do you still have pictures of the set-up in your old place. If so, we'd like to see that, too :)
Will comment on your other post later.
Marco.
Hi Marco
probably not. Lost some images after a drive crash and fear they are all gone. Will have a look to old CD Backup, maybe find them.
Cheers,
Hermann
