View Full Version : Cambridge Audio 651C Filters
I have CA 651CD player and I understand it has three filter settings that a user can experiment with. I looked at the manual which described these settings in very technical language: different wave forms etc. It says nothing about the effect these filters have on the actual sound. Anyone got this / had this CD player and can advise what the settings do to the sound? (By the by, the default setting from the factory sounds good to my ears)
I use a Sony CDP XB930 player which has a choice of four filter settings. The effects are subtle and difficult to describe in words. I don't have a preference, so I leave it set to 'Standard'.
To actually answer your question, I would suggest to do the obvious thing: listen to the player using each setting in turn (with the same CD), decide which, if any, you prefer and leave it at that.
