I've dug my Sonos out again and signed up to try tidal (and Qobuz but I keep getting drop outs so unlikely to choose to go with it) and am presently surprised but the sound into my nait xs. However I am thinking about an external DAC to help smooth off some of the digital harshness. I would like something like the naim Dac but it's out of my price range at present so...what are people using with streamers and services like tidal? I had thought about a valve dac as I really like the sound of my Firebottle phononstage (alan if you are reading this please can you make a dac for me to try!) or I might go back to a caiman as I had the mkI with the gator upgrade a few years ago which sounded very good for the price.
As my main source will be a TT trying to keep the budget down to £250.
