I am thinking about making some speakers and want to hide the fixing of the grilles. I am guessing you route out the MDF and glue a magnet in. Where do you get them?

In a word EBAY.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Neodymium-Disc-Magnets-6mm-Dia-x-3mm-Thick-Grade-N38-Strong-Craft-Round-Model-/380899794738?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item58af659f32

I use these for most speaker builds with grilles.

Something tells me this is so wrong! I don't understand where you say you want to hide the fixings but yet you want to route the MDF & glue a magnet in!!

Self adhesive Hook & Loop coins look neat enough

If you hide the magnets under veneer, they pick up metal dust and can develop a grey stain. Better to glue a steel disc or washer to the cabinet and fix the magnets to the grill. That's if you plan to veneer, of course.

Naaa,
That looks pants. Dont want to see anything on the face other than the drivers. Beneath the veneer is what I am thinking.

Wish I could afford a pair of your speakers Colin.
