Following some very positive comments here and elsewhere I decided to give this tiny DAC a whirl (less than 30 notes - why not...)
I duly ordered one from the famous online bookstore and after a few days Mrs Postie dropped it off.
ARGHH !! - on opening the package I found I had received a Taishan and NOT the D3. As I use both coax and optical inputs and the Taishan has a notoriously fiddly switch I immediately arranged a return and refund (which they agreed too instantly) On checking the order I discovered that the supplier had shipped the Taishan deliberately as 'the updated model'. Reading the product feedback I noticed I wasn't the first one this has happened to.
In the meantime I have sourced a new D3 from t'bay and have it up and running as I type (listening to 'Art of Noise' - transfer from vinyl - very nice it is too)
Just thought I'd give a heads up in case anyone else is thinking of getting one
