Problems After Washing Or Cleaning Vinyl Records

Hi guys, can you help? Has anyone had any problems after washing or cleaning there vinyl records?
I bought a new Okki Nokki record cleaning machine last month and used the okki nokki cleaning fluid that came with the machine, I cleaned a batch of my records as the manual said, and I used pure water bought from a chemist. After letting the records dry I slipped them into new antistatic sleeves the next evening I played some of my cleaned records, although they seem to be a lot quieter and a lot of the pops had gone, they seem to sound very flat, nice top end but flat mid’s and no base and not much dynamic’s . I have also tried using distilled water with the L art de son cleaning fluid but the records just sounded the same, Has anyone had this experience while cleaning vinyl records before?

Well you've stumped me, if you are saying the records sounded good/correct but "gritty/dirty", then when you cleaned them the "dirtiness disappeared but the musicality went worse, I can only guess there was still residual muck in the bottom of the grooves and I suggest you try a thorough second clean/rinse.
Also have a look at the stylus tip to see if there may be a small bit of grunge stuck to the tip.

My 2 penneth, I will be interested to see how your situation improves. keep us upto date, maybe others have other suggestions.

I'd be more inclined to look at your setup unless it is only like th a t on cleaned records . If it is then either your doing it wrong or there is something wrong with the cleaner. Have to say I use a moth cleaner and vacuum solves the problem

Just to be clear, you are vacuuming the records dry after cleaning?

I also bought an Okki Nokki recently, and I have found that the fluid is not the best.
It can take two cycles to get a record properly clean. I would suggest that you try some of "The right one" cleaning fluid and a decent brush. This has made a massive difference to the results I get with my machine.
