Demo Raptors now available to demo and to order. I have had many visitors now, some bringing their own amps. One chap brought some Kerr 11 Watt EL84 monoblocks which sounded surprisingly good! Don't let the modest sensitivity fool you...these are a VERY easy amp load:

Thanks Grant.

I am working on a few slight alterations to try and shave a little more off the retail on these, but they're incredibly expensive things make at this level, especially as I cannot generate economies of scale through mass manufacture. I dont cut the same corners either having said that as I don't have the pressures of a marketing team and accountants breathing down my neck! That veneer was £200 in it's raw sheet for example. However, there is every attention to detail given to the design and voicing, and each pair is matched accurately to within less than 1dB plus they are hand crafted with many days involved per cabinet. Value then is excellent compared with just about any similar commercial speaker using those drive units and for those interested, download and compare the on axis response from the equivalent Gamuts (RRP £12,500). The response from the Raptors actually betters them. Having heard both, I prefer the Raptors (I would say that wouldn't I? True though!)

I paid a morning's visit to RFC Towers yesterday, to say hi to Paul, oh and also to hear the new Raptors. :)

Elegant things, here's my own pic ...

Paul kept going on about neutrality and amazingly flat frequency response, and phase something or other ...
.... and then he put on an LP of Deep Purple's Made in Japan - Highway Star --- :wowzer:

Hey, these elegantly presented standmounts can BOOGIE !! :hairmetal:
Hugely, hugely entertaining, I just got carried away with the music.
Fab speakers, Paul. Best of luck with them - they deserve to be heard.

Beautiful speakers Paul . God knows the amount of craftsmanship and effort which must be needed to reach this level of finish . Unfortunately I'm too far away to get a listen to these
I've dealt with RFC before and can wholeheartedly recommend you and your services to anyone who may be interested in these speakers or anything else for that matter . Good luck .

Nice to see you again Jerry, although it must have been someone else (perhaps in a dream?) who kept on "going on about flat frequency response". These have a sloped response (slight bass to treble slope) ;)

That Deep Purple album is fab...if only rock groups produced that sort of stuff today...

Thanks for the feedback Brian. Who knows; if ever you do find yourself n this neck of the woods, you'd be more than welcome to stop by.

Ah yes, I seem to recall that now - I think my eyes were beginning to glaze over - you know what you designer dweebs are like once you get going!

There's no stopping our enthusiasm (which is what you were about to say I'm sure!!!)

Watch this space. I have a 3 way floorstander in the pipeline...it may be somewhere off at present but the first shoots of design have started. The Raptor will remain in the line up indefinitely though as its an excellent performing loudspeaker.

A floor stander is interesting.
