Hi

I'm after a Fiio E12 headphone amplifier or similar. Doesn't have to be from Fiio. No specific budget, just depends on what comes up.

Alternatively, I could sell both my iPod Classic and Fiio E11 headphone amp and get either a Fiio X3, X5 or iBasso DX 50, DX 90. Again, if someone has an alternative, let me know.

Regards

Darren

I'm running an iBasso DX90 with my Sennheiser HD25 II's after using a 160gb iPod Classic & iBasso Boa d2+ for quite some time. Apart from some niggley issues with the user interface on the DX90 (compared to the slick iPod UI) I wouldn't go back to Apple, unless they come out with a product that supports hi-def files and doesn't solely rely on iTunes as a way of transferring files. So it looks like I'll be sticking with the DX90 for quite some time :)

No worries Darren... just to add, iBasso produce some very nice DAC/headphone amps and in my opinion are better than the Fiio range. By better, in my experience I've owned and used (in no particular order) the Fiio E1, E5, E7, E12 and E17 but found that the last two eventually gave up the ghost due to headphone socket faults. However, I used my iPod/iBasso rig during my daily commute and the Boa stood all manner of bumps and bruises without any issues. It sounded damn good too - but in fairness, the Fiio E17 (which was my fav Fiio product) was a very good performer too. It was just let down by its limited life span...

Again, thanks. I'll have a look at the iBasso Headphone amps.

Hi
I've had/got quite a few Fiio products including an X3 and they've all been good, although the battery life can be an issue. I did have a headphone socket issue but it was easily repairable on the E11 - just a resolder job.
My main point is have you considered the Topping NX1? I bought one just after christmas and it's pretty remarkable when you consider the £25 price tag - I've used it with various headphones including ATH-M50's and it's been great - seems to hold it's charge for a good length of time too. Used with both Ipod Classic 160 and the X3.

Hi

Sorry for not replying earlier. I think I want to go for at least the E12, even though your price is very good. I'd take it if I could think of another use for it.

Darren
