Welcome aboard he who we shall call "J" - you are right to be concerned, there are those on here that would "groom" you into the way of the "CD" - and I'm not talking digital music. Before you know it, "J" will stand for "Jane" ;) Mind you, that assumes I've assumed correctly you are male, don't answer that - could be dangerous to admit here on the internet!

Apart from trying to drag the first name out of you, the next question is usually where are you from, which we already know - not been to Oregon myself, though the bits of the US I have been to have been great - I'm a big US car fan, as well.

Next on the list of interrogation is your music tastes - please do tell us what you like to listen to.

Hi sheesh OK my name is Jeff. (haha but is it really true? Besides, I'm starting to like J :smoking:) I see I have joined a relentless group. Part of my job is data security, so by default I protect my own. Or try to. Someone has already done my sig for me as J, but I'll let it go this time (admins are on it here I see LOL). So that means I'm male, and Jane would be someone I've met a long time ago but not wish to remember. :smoking:

I left a bit of what I like to listen to on my thread in Analogue Art, but you know I'm modding my TT so you probably know what I listen to already :) I'll add that I envy you UK guys with all your early parlophone, harvest, etc., vinyl pressings. My UK vinyl, some of it has been costly to get over here. And sometimes NM or EX simply is not. Funny though, just today I got in the mail a 1969 AP red vinyl Revolver from Japan. Man those guys most always have pristine condition vinyl/covers. Sucks that most of the vinyl I like, USA pressings seem to be the worst! And dont get me started on the cars. Had an old vette, old firebird, etc., owned many of them, and now I will stick with german unless I'm forced to buy USA.

Currently, I have a Technics 1200MK5, KAB fluid damper, KAB PS-1200 power supply, Cardas wired tonearm, assortment of mats, (never can make up my mind with those it seems), running a Dynavector 20XH HOMC. (To me a much better rocker than it's brother the 20XL LOMC). Isonoe footers. I also use Last products, RCM, etc.,

Phono stage is a Dynavector P-75 MKII, adjustable, small, no frills.

Marantz 2325 1976 fully and modernly recapped (about 100+ caps), ready to rock and kick anytime. Nice FM section too! Not that I use the tone controls much but nice to have once in a while. I've augmented a few preamps, but just never goes the direction I want.

Custom towers running 12", 8", 1", custom crossed, rear bass ports, probably around 92 db efficiency. 10 gage wire. Strategically placed away from walls, all on cement carpeted floor. :)

Also run digital via wav files using a chaintech sound card (woolfson DAC), with envy 24 driver. Not expensive, but effective as I dont record or all those other features, just playback. No CD player for playback.

I've played with tubes in the past, and I just think my system now is less hassle and, well, gives me what I want.
