Looking to buy back into valve amps. Really would like either Icon Audio, Croft or Eastern Electric. Mainly for 80s rock music so any recommendations welcome

I've got a trafomatic elegance 6550 integrated for just a snadge over your budget. 40w a side, remote for volume, supported by Definitive Audio so great back up. Boxed etc and bought ex dem from Ardhowen hifi in February / march mast year.

What about a Croft Integrated ?

I had a Croft Integrated on trial from Glenn and was not impressed with it at all... far too soft and not enough punch for my liking... I know I was comparing it to a more expensive AN Oto but it really left me cold.. and therefore had to return it... just my thoughts of course...;)

The croft stuff is superb IME, thinner and more forward than for my preference and annoying twin volume knobs (I tried to love them - it's a compromise that doesn't bother some). Sounded nice with my Harbeth P3ESRs I have to say.

Heard a decent puresound A30 last weekend driving Tannoy Cheviots and it really shone.
