I run a croft stereo 7 power amp and looking to upgrade to 7 monos
Has anyone done this and was it a worth while improvement?
thanks in advance

I have heard the mono's.. they are great. Yes, certainly a worthwhile upgrade IMO. :) Especially coming from a straight 7.

Also to throw another little twist in the knickers, what about the potential differences of Stereo 7 to 7R, and then from 7R to 7 monos....Obviously some of this may depend on speakers being driven etc., but all things being equal? Not to get too far off the path here.

My customers invariably go for a 7R rather than 7 monos.

The differences in the 7 and the 7R are quite big in terms to sound. The 7R brings a little more weight, better seperation.
The 7R is a lovely amp, I've had one. They also respond well to rolling different valves.
As Dave said, most do upgrade from 7 to 7R as I did.
The mono's are nice though. They are also up-gradable too.
