In my old house, where a great many speakers I tried were just too bright and gave me a headache, these were amazing. Beautifully musical and warm. Detailed but not fatiguing. Best of all, they present the timbre of the music fantastically - each pluck of the string, slap of the bass etc.
They also have great punch for their very compact dimensions and have the scale of a much bigger speaker. Don't seem to be fussy about placement and work well when you need to sit fairly close to them.
Superbly engineered and weigh a ton.

With much sadness, having moved house, my room is very different (carpets instead of laminate, textured wall paper instead of paint and a fair bit bigger) and the Spendors are just not doing it for me any more.

They are in excellent condition with only a few tiny marks and immaculate drivers. Finish I think is cherry and is a little darker in reality than the pictures look.

I would like £475 for them or happy to swap for other speakers of the same value or with cash either way if you have something that takes my fancy. I'm going to be selling off a few pairs of my speakers to hopefully fund one decent pair that will work in my room over the coming weeks.

Strictly collection only from just outside Bicester (M40, J9) as I have no boxes. More than happy to demo with a cup of tea although this isn't the best room for them or they wouldn't be for sale!

Beautiful pics and speakers !! Everything I've heard about Spendors I like, beautiful vocals / mids, timbre and texture of instruments and best of all non fatiguing. All the very best with the sale :)

Although probably not right for this thread, I'd be interested to hear your thought on their comparisons to the Epos ES-14s you have in the background.

Well, quite different. The ES14 are not what you'd call warm. I bought them recently but not sure they're for me. They have a much brighter tonal balance, depth is OK but not huge for their size. Treble could be a bit more refined but that might be my amp.

The ES14 are good speakers but I'm not sure I'd enjoy a long listening session with them.

I still remember hearing Spendor S8's. Lovely speakers, good for chill-out music.

These must sound great!

I was going to change to these from a pair of BC1s.
Life moved on and I never bought them.
I suspect that if things had stayed the same I would still have a pair.

I not sure that Spendor's speakers have improved since then, but rather moved sideways...
