Yeh & remeber there's the original one with 5 Pin Din Audio Output + Red 'Tune' button & the later one with Pair Phono Audio outputs & Dark brown 'Tune' button. The Yellow press buttons are just marked 1-7 on the early Din units the later has Yellow buttons marked BBC 1-4 + ILR 1-2 & BBC LR..

I still prefer the 'FM-3'

It is certainly prettier. I don't remember hearing much difference between them. Press buttons are good for the lazy though. I still have the FM4 and will buy another FM3 as soon as the funds are availably to complete the set:)

There CLASSICS even though people think the 33 Pre is the weakest link but i think not its actually very good in the right system regular service is a must just got mine back and is bootiful mine still boxed manuals the look also not a mark on them bought the in 2010 and still my pride and joy. Also have the book of QUAD its an excellent read i must say.:cool:

Although I now use a Quad FM4, I still have a 'complete' set of the Series 3 electronics: Quad AM3, FM2, FM3, 33 and 303. Also have a Quad 303K.

I must admit I've always fancied trying an FM4. I love the preset labelling, too!

It's all cobblers. People have a real good habbit of plugging in 40 year old amps, no service no rebuild no nowt & judging by what they hear.When i first bought mine it sounded a bit horrid now it don't.

At £95 that FM4 is a bargain! :) If didn't already have an FM4, I would buy the one advertised for sale like a shot.
