Isonoe or Sound Support tonearm board query

Hi,

Has anyone used the very very nice looking Isonoe single piece magnesium CNC machined tonearm board for Rega or SME before ?

Any impressions/ experience with its use (the Rega & SME tonearm boards can be bought separately directly from Isonoe)?

Has anyone used the Sound supports tonearm board for SL1210 found here:

appreciate any comments about their arm boards.

I used a three point Rega Soundsupports armboard on my Sl1200.
It fitted well, and was a reasonable price.

I have the SoundHiFi SME tonearm board, the Origin Live Rega tonearm board and the Sound Support Jelco tonearm board. Of the three the Sound Support is the least polished, and the fit was a little less easy than the other two. However, it works and is on my 1200 right now with a 750. The Origin Live was the most polished, but it had a few washers between the outer and inner rings that really messed with the VTA of the Rega RP8.

I didn't fit it with captive nuts. I always knew it was part of a progressive journey, so wanted it to be easily removable. It is less polished, but I wanted something cheap. If you are looking long term, consider one of Speedy Steve's ebony armboards?

The FX1200 is stunning. What I mean by that is that there is little resonance or colouration of the signal. It just lets the cartridge get on with it. Sadly I think it's the last of the species as I don't think the Funk Firm are making any more. Mine may be unique as it has the upgraded arm tube.

Yes, the FX 1200 are rare beasts - a shame they are so rare. They weren't cheap new - not sure how many were made. I like the idea of it as it retains the functionality of the technics arms (anti-skating, VTF), the better than most gimbal bearings with v low friction, easy to get parts and has the benefits of F.X.R.
It'll be hard to find a secondhand FX1200 for sure.....

I have a alphason H-100RS which I am thinking of putting on the Techie......rigid, light, and according to recent hifi news review quite non resonant.
All I need to do now is find the best way to fit it .......I like the idea of rivnuts - easy to change arm boards and tonearms.

I am getting a SL1200 Mk2 (same base as is on the SL1210 mk4) rubber base - it has a larger more open aperture for the tonearm - so no cutting the original one so I can keep it in as new condition if I ever need to return my Techie back to stock form. It's compatible with the Sl1200/SL1210 models apparently.

The plan is slowly getting there....can we use Speedy Steve's ebony arm boards (they look beautiful!) with rivets? can he supply them with his arm boards?

There is a seller on ebay called F1Sport who has nice looking boards too.
