Hello,

I'm new-ish to vinyl music reproduction.

I have eclectic tastes including jazz, blues, classical, rock, americana and even some 80's pop music.

Looking forward to learning more about Technics SL1210 and all things vinyl. Considering doing a modification to my SL1210 Mk5g ......but not sure of the possible benefit as it sound pretty good now - especially with thick rubber mat and a record weight.


System:

Kenwood KD600 with alphason H-100RS MCS tonearm, Audio Technica ATOC9 mk3 MC cartridge
Technics SL1210 Mk5g (KAB fluid damper, KAB wax mod to bearing) with Audio Technica ATOC9 mk2 MC cartridge
Vintage Beyerdynamic step up transformer fed in to MM section of Primare R32 phono stage (or directly in to a Icon audio PS3 mk2 MM/MC phono stage which has its own step up transformers on board)
KAB RF-1 rumble filter
Unison Research CD player
Unison Research S6 (Mk1 version) integrated amp with Electroharmonix EH 6CA7 ('fat bottle') power valves, RCA clear top side getter 12AU7 preamp valves.
Tannoy Glenair 10 speakers

Yes, thank you all - some very helpful posts.......I am slowly coming up with a plan of trying to extract the most from the techie with tonearm/ cartridge change....hopefully without busting the bank....
