Hi to all, just after some advice if possible please ?

I was just searching here for Upgrades for my TC7510 - Sorry if I missed some relative posts but I was just wondering
about the Upgrade from the Burr brown chip to the Wolfson DAC Chip - WM8716 ?

Any one had this upgrade ? And what were the benefits please ?

I have a linear power supply, and also intend to get the Op amps upgraded.

I do intend to keep this Dac - Fixed Line output feeds my Arcam A19 - Variable line out goes to my BK XLS200 Sub.

Love the sound but curious about the Wolfson chip...Thanks for any advice - very best regards to all. Steve. :)

This is going back close to 8 years now, so I doubt if anyone can remember that far back what the benefits were.
It is not a straight forward process of just changing the PCM1716 to the WM8716. A wire mod needed to be done as well. What the mod is exactly escapes me, but I shall have a look to see if I kept any record of it.

Hi Pete mate - sorry only just seen your message.....yes the Deben's still working beautifully. Seriously thinking about a 10 / 14 Ah at some point. Proper nice kit.
I bought a different DAC - TC7510 ( brand new ) because I needed a fixed AND variable line output....Simple dc connector from the battery to mini dc plug.

Loving the TC7510....Was wondering about the Op amps upgrade....Or I may just wait a while - Buy one of Stans' new Caimans plus a passive pre-amp for fixed / variable outs ! ??

Cheers Pete all the best mate, Steve.

Edit...may sell the linear PSU I have..battery power so much better. Noticeable with a good system.
Will keep searching on here re. Op amps upgrade.
