OK, advice required here from those who know more than I do.
I am currently using a Rotel RC850 preamplifier into Rotel RB850 bridged, monoblock power amps but would like to upgrade the preamp in a couple of months as funds permit. My thoughts are with a Croft Micro 25 R as I would be able to afford this but my query is; would this be overkill given the remainder of my system...? I also cannot stand the Crofts dual volume pots which are infuriating in the extreme.
As usual, any advice given would be very welcome.

PS: I intend to keep the Rotel powers as their stereo imaging is massive and very deep.

Not overkill and you may be able to get Glen to make one with a Single Volume Pot:)

You can order those Croft Micro 25 R as a single pot version anyway.

I agree, and he’ll do that, no worries. Apart from selling his normal commercial stuff, Glenn is usually well up for designing bespoke items, so Shaun, just send him an email to discuss your requirements! :)

Could be, dude. The point is that Croft amps are available with stereo pots, full stop, so no-one has to ’suffer’ using the mono ones if they don’t want to :)

Been there & done it. The Practicality of a stereo pot outweighs the pain in the arse factor with single channel pots. High Quality stereo pots are that good these days it's hardly worth the shit imho.. I even replaced all the Dual concentric pots in one of my amps for standard Stereo pots, was no big deal, I just no longer have an Balance facitity the Dual Concentric Volume pot once gave me...

If Glenn does not sell them with single pots you can contact Adrain at Audioflair, he will certainly do it for you and is one of Glenns main dealers.

Id love the Croft 'One Phono Stage' to use with my amp but pennies are really short these days....
