I bought a Mk1 Delphi a while back which needed quite a bit of work; new clamp, arm board, legs and lid repairs. As I have a lathe I was able to turn a new clamp and legs, plus I made the Mk6 silicon dashpots and a foamed PVC mat.
The lid was harder to repair, but I bought some acrylic adhesive and made a rough job of it! At least it is usable, but the silly design means it only reaches half way down and doesn't keep the dust out! I have had to use a fabric dustcover, which means it is awkward to use. So it hardly gets played.
At last I decided to do something about it, and had a look in the garage for some acrylic sheet. Nothing thin enough, but I have plenty of clear polycarbonate, as used to protect stained glass windows. It isn't as good as acrylic at damping resonance, but easier to cut, so I made some clear walls to sit on the plinth and overlap the lid by about 8mm. Glueing it was a bit messy, so I cheated and stuck a couple of strips of black paper over the glue lines to hide them. WAF was good, so it'll do. I used some black non-setting window sealer to hold it in place in case I want to remove it.
Hopefully it will keep the dust out now, and I will actually start playing records again!
Picture quality is not great. Sorry.

Having an Oracle of my own covered in dust , I see where you are coming from.
Nice work on the silicon dash pots, thought about it myself. Do you notice much difference?

No, because I made them before I ever used it, IIRC. I have a lathe and I'm gonna use it! :D
It needed a clamp making, so I did everything else at the same time.
