Those RR1s are too expensive... my RR3s with stands were £600 & I just saw a pair of RR2s go on eBay for £460, which is a realistic price for them.

Extend your search to include Royd Minstrel SEs if you're interested in RR1s.

Edit: the SEs use the revelation driver albeit hand doped and no crossover on the driver (a good thing IME) and a uses a braced metal cradle like the RR1s.

The minstrel SE doesn't use the revelation driver, just a more heavily doped version than the std minskie. The dust post has a black cap too. I think the standard minstrel is more 'free rolling' than the SE. They lost their verve and boogie.

The RR1 uses a very cheap tweeter and the crossover is just a cap and resistor.

Edit: actually the SE may have had a revelation driver under all that gunk.

The finish advertised on wigwam is by far the best IMO. Very neutral in the flesh.
