Where should the drivers be positioned? Most speakers have them lined up on the front face, sometimes with the tweeter set back to allow for time alignment. Tannoy DC is another version. I have seen downward firing woofers and ones that are on the side face of the cabinet. Any thoughts on what is the best solution?

There is no overriding best solution as such, it depends on the drive units and the designers aims/objectives.

I don't know what would be the best as in design, some of my speakers have downward firing subs, some are standard forward facing, some tweeter above, some tweeter below. All good in their ways, i have no favorite. These i tend to use the most at the moment

I would love to hear those. Designers that push the boundaries and offer something different have to be applauded.

Work fine, i never crank it up to be honest. even so quite surprised how good they sound / work with the Kraken, as we know even Alchemist stated best to use the kraken with 8 ohm speakers.
