These are large floor standing speakers and were in my main system until summer last year, when I upgraded to Fact.12s.

A quick Google will show you how well regarded these are. I was told by someone in the trade that the Signature version, which have the same cabinets and drivers but an enhanced crossover, are only a minor improvement, so I think reviews like the HiFi News http://www.hifinews.co.uk/news/artic...ound;7315/9397 (http://www.hifinews.co.uk/news/article/pmc-pb1i-signature-pound;7315/9397) are relevant.

These speakers aren't a difficult load, despite PMC's reputation for liking plenty of watts. I used them very successfully with an EAR 890 valve power amp that has 70 wpc. I listen to a wide range of music including choral, baroque, rock, indie, alternative, folk etc. These speakers sound very natural to my ears, especially noticeable on female vocal, timpani and acoustic instruments.

Some specs from PMC (http://pmc-speakers.com/products/archive/archive/pb1i):

Crossover Frequency: 380Hz & 3.8kHz -24dB/Oct
Dimensions: H 1084mm W 204mm D 401mm

Effective ATL™ Length: 3.5m 11.5ft
Frequency Response: 24Hz-25kHz
Impedance: 6 Ohms
Input Connectors: 3 pairs 4mm sockets (Tri-Wire or Tri-Amp)
Recommended Amp Power: 90-350W
Sensitivity: 87dB 1w 1m
Weight: 26kg

I bought them from PJ Hifi in Guildford about 5 years ago. They would be excellent condition but have a very small mark on one front corner (varnish/lacquer not broken) and a small dint on a rear corner - both shown in the photos below. Neither blemishes are obvious. PMC build to last and these are no exceptions - they are in perfect working condition. Therefore, I would suggest overall VG condition.

These speakers look really nice in the flesh, better for me than the Fact 12s that have replaced them. The walnut veneer is lovely.

I have the original boxes and paperwork.

PB1is seem come up on the s/h market very rarely - I guess people hang onto them. When they were discontinued in late 2013, a few 'ex-dem' models were sold by by the likes of Fanthorpes and Lintone. The most recent price I can find is on ebay.ie http://www.ebay.ie/itm/PMC-PB1i-Spea...-/161206216816 (http://www.ebay.ie/itm/PMC-PB1i-Speakers-Walnut-Ex-Display-/161206216816) where a pair of walnut ex-dem models were sold for £3,740. There's also a pair of Signatures on that auction site, asking £4600. I think the last retail price was just under £7k.

I live in Newcastle upon Tyne. If you're interested and serious, you're welcome to come and audition them.

Please feel free to ask questions.
