With my Quad 33 relegated to the naughty step (more later..) I cobbled together the red lunchbox replacement shown below:

The knob on the left controls a passive-pre feeding my refurbed Quad 303 - the right hand bit is a CMOY headphone amp. The box is a recycled HDD case sprayed with some left over red from 't shed. The sound is surprisingly marvellous ... to the extent that the 33 may be out the picture for some time unless it bucks it's ideas up :lol:
Other boxes are a tiny Lindy DAC linking my Mac Mini and, on the right, a Terratec USB phono stage which, together with Audacity, does a great job of sampling vinyl.
