If anyone has a badly scratched dust cover on their TT, find a woodturner!! (Or a metalworker)
My Dual 1019 had a really naff cover with scratches all over it and one area that had obviously seen some wire wool in an attempt to polish a bad mark out.
I polish my turnings on mops with course and fine polishing sticks. I spent twenty minutes this morning with the lathe at maximum speed and a fine mop and abrasive. The cover is now almost blemish free, the bad patch is completely clear and there are just one or two deeper scratches left. I'll try and get them out tomorrow. Apart from those, it looks almost new.
Its a great way to improve the looks of an old TT.
