Modified Technics 1210 with Denon DL103R for sale

Hello all

Having modified an immaculate 1210 back in september I have decided to sell. Please check my previous posts for a list of what I did, but briefly:

-dampened whole of internal with dynamat including under the arm board
-serviced turntable and cleaned and oiled the bearing with oil from audio origami
-rewired tonearm with cardas cable bypassing the internal PCB and straight to phono plugs
-dampened tonearm internally
-sumiko headshell with denon DL103R and counterweight
-origin live feet
-cover and hinges included but not photographed and will fit these on sale


As lovely as the turntable sounds, I'm quite an impatient/lazy person and didn't get on with the whole vinyl thing (it was my first turntable since the family hi-fi as a child). I just don't like the whole having to clean the record and the flipping - I'm not the sort of person to listen to a whole album and prefer a song here and there and therefore, I hate to say it, burned cds are going to remain my primary source.

The cartridge has had no more than 3 hours use total.

I'm in NW london and can demonstrate but you would need to bring a phono stage as I returned the one I had in september/october after I realised I wouldn't be keeping the turntable .

If your photos are on your computer, there should be no problem. Just visit a free image hosting site.

I use TinyPic.

Keep your AOS page with the ad on open and ready to edit. On TinyPic. Open a new tab to get on there, then you click on the 'choose file' box which takes you into you computer to select the file you want. Presumably in 'my pictures' or 'pictures'. Once you've done that click on the 'drop down' where it says 'default' and pick the size Message Board or 15" should be OK. Click on 'upload now', you'll probably get a security code to play and enter. Do that, then when the page comes up with four main lines and a small copy of your picture on the right, left click on the second line down and copy. Go back to the forum page you are adding images to and right click on the blank bit of page you need the photo on, then submit the page.

Sounds complex, but once you've done it a few times it's simple.

Hi Audio Al. I would prefer to keep the headshell with the turable and at this point I'd just like to sell the lot as a whole unit -I'm wondering why no one has made any offers yet? However, as I said, I'd sell the cartridge on it's own - for £265. It has had 4 hours use tops, and it has all boxes and original receipt. By the way I did a lot of research on the 103r and it appears there are a lot of fakes that go around hence there are cheap options - I made sure I got mine from an established shop.

Just to say that the turntable is for sale again. Stupid time waster scoobs had pm'd me and I agreed to hold on to the turntable until the end of january as scoobs didn't have the money. We arranged to meet Saturday gone, but he was unreachable on Saturday only to message me late at night to say he could make this coming Thursday. He then messaged me yesterday to say he wanted to pull out of the deal. I held on to the turntable for a month and trusted him on his word. Marco, perhaps you should warn people about silly time-wasters - I thought the forum was quite a decent place.

There is a feedback area for comments on sales and buys in the Private Exhibitions section, where observations positive or negative (within limits) can be posted. The forum has no way of monitoring a transaction between private individuals or predicting its outcome.

Hi. The 1210 is still for sale. The turntable has not been used since it was originally advertised at the beginning of 2015 - has been sat in storage. However, whilst in storage it appears the cables that I had left under the lid have broken off the needle. I was so annoyed! The Expert Stylus Co tell me they can replace the needle, so I can either sell without the Cartridge for £450 - please see my original post for all the modifications I made to the 1210- or with the broken cartridge for £600. I'm told it will sound even better with a replacement needle for the Denon DL103R. Sensible offers considered. Thanks.
