As above - the system change continues unabated ;-)

I bought this 1210 from the 'Bay as a starter for a 1210 project. I'm very happy with the deck but looking to sell now as I'm having a re-think about my system overall.

It's a stock 1210 in OK cosmetic condition - not the best, but not the worst by a long chalk, with the following mods:

Audio Origami foam-filled and rewired tonearm.
KAB Fluid Damper
Thrunobulaxx brass counterweight (3-part)
Sumiko headshell
Sound Organsation mat (similar to Herbies I believe)
Isonoe feet.

The lid is a replacement but has a few policing marks and light scratches - nothing too offensive though. The body of the deck is good overall with some light paint-lifting around the on/off switch and the odd wear mark. The arm and headshell are unmarked, as are the feet and mat. This would be a great start for full-on mods (PSU etc) whilst retaining the stock arm's convenience and ease of use - and it sounds very good as is, as those who heard it at Scalford a couple of years ago can attest to.

I'm asking £425 for the deck, I think it a good price considering the upgrades already done. I'd much prefer collection or meet up - I'm in Somerset but travel to Sussex occasionally so we could arrange something I'm sure, unless you're way 'oop north'. I could pack carefully and courier at your cost, but with the usual caveats. Nagaoka cart not included but might be for sale soon.

Yes Grant, it's pretty good, just not mint. Sounds great though, and would be a fab deck for someone as is - or spend another couple of hundred on an external PSU to really make it sing.

That cartridge body seems to be sticking out a bit far at the front or is it just me?

Dunno, I aligned it with the Technics protractor from VE - sounds OK ;-) Anyway the cart's not included, unless someone wants to do a deal...

The protractor on Vinyl Engine uses Baerwald alignment which puts the cartridge a little further out than standard on the SL1200 hence it sticking out a bit. Mine is the same.
