Had a bit of a strange one yesterday, I bought a vinyl storage unit over the weekend and I have a turntable wall shelf on order to sit above the unit. So yesterday I decided to move the TT from it's original position (arrow1 see pic) to where it currently is in the picture (just untill wall shelf arrives) I re-cheaked the arm and levelled the deck , but when I started playing an LP the 2 bass cones on my speakers (arrows 2) went into some kind of spasm? they vibrated violently, so I checked I'd set every thing up correctly, which I had. So I tried various things to resolve it, but it still kept happening, So I moved it back to it's original position 1, and the problem went away. so not sure what the issue is? but I do have a bit of concern as the TT will be pretty much in the same place all be it on a wall shelf above the vinyl unit. Has anyone had smiler issue and could possible shed some light on this?

Feedback - vibration from the speaker gets into the TT and then is played back through the speaker. I think the wall shelf will solve that problem, but don't set it up near the corner of the room.

thanks for the reply Macca, I had similar thoughts that it mite be unwanted vibrations, but as both positions are of equal distance from the speaker, I sort of ruled it out? also that spot is pretty much the only place it the room to set the TT up

It will almost certainly be fine once you have it on the wall shelf you have ordered.

Ok quick update, I've moved the TT over to the left side of vinyl unit, so it's more to the side/edging towards the back of the speaker and I've also moved the speaker moreover towards original unit & TV, and it seems to have solved the issue, so should be even better once wall shelf arrives !!! I know that corner is not the ideal location for the TT but it's really the only practical space in the room as your all aware of sofas, chairs, fireplace windows and furniture !!!

Are they nice quality, in the flesh, and easily put up? I was thinking of getting one myself :)

Excellent quality and it comes with a template for the wall to drill the holes, so it's easyer to get the paper template set square and level, rather than holding the shelf and trying to mark the holes. So making it very easy to put up

Sounds good, Lee! In that case, I’ll definitely be getting one (in maple), together with a 40mm isolation plinth:
