Hello everybody,
I am a fan of Quad electrostatic: I own a pair of ESL 2912 at the moment. Before, I used a stacked pair of ESL57. Drive them either with a pair of Mark Levinson ML2, or with a push pull of EL84.
I listen to a large panel of music (Classical, Jazz, Rock, World).
Very pleased to join you.
François

Bonjour Francois,

Where in France are you?? There are several ESL fans around here, me south of Angouleme and Alan east of Poitier. We both run 57s.

Welcome to AOS.

Hello Francois. Welcome to AOS.

Plenty of Quad interest on here, including electrostatic users, so you're in good company.

We have a Gallery section for equipment and system photos if you'd like to add some. They are always welcome.

I'm sure you'll find plenty to interest you here.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

Hello Francois,
Welcome to the AoS and a Happy New Year from me.
What's the rest of your system? what source are you using?
How is the HiFi scene in France?
Is vinyl popular?

Enjoy your music :)

cheers Al

My system includes a TD 124/3012 with koetsu urushi vermilion for vinyl, an EAR acute for CDs, a Pioneer N-50 for digital music, a Kenwood L-1000T tuner, a PV9a preamplifier from Conrad Johnson.

Vinyl revival is strong in France

Do you like tomatoes? :eyebrows:

I really enjoyed my visit last year to Bayonne. A lovely city.

May I ask what power amp you use.
I am using an Art Audio Quintet and find that I need to use my Rothwell attenuators otherwise the noise floor is too high and I do not have enough control on the volume (max at 9 O clock)
Art Audio told me that using the attenuators is not a problem and said that it was the correct thing to do.

I love the Conrad Johnson PV9a. to me is sounds so right and very neutral, so I am curious as to your matching power amp.

PS: Vinyl Rocks :)

I doubt you'll get a response. The thread is old and the member concerned has not posted for years.

Thanks you are right.
I was hoping to get some advice regarding my Conrad Johnson PV9a preamp.

Anyway it is working just fine, so I will play my LP's and sort out my B&W DM70's
