View Full Version : Hi From New Zealand
Hi, I'm Tony from Auckland. Keen audiophile, also sport, cars and reading. I'm fortunate to have reached a point where I've reached a point with my system electronics (Shindo and Thoress for amplification, Audio Note DAC, Antipodes (NZ product) music server) where I am very satisfied and have no urge whatsoever to upgrade (for now anyway) and therefore spend a bit of time working with turntables, searching out out vintage turntables, restoring and refurbishing, mainly Thorens, Garrard 301 and 401s, and Lencos. Here's a pic of a 301 I just finished:

Looking forward to being a member of the forum.
Hello and welcome Tony to AoS. Very nice TT and lovely grain and knotty plinth. Good to hear you are happy with your system, and you can relax, listen and do TT's up. Like that sort of thing myself. We have a few Anzacs on the forum, and sure they will put in an appearance.
Cheers Grant

Hello Tony. Welcome to AOS.
Hi-Fi, cars, books and refurbishing Garrards? Sounds like you'll fit right in. :)
Some more photos of your system would be most welcome in our Gallery section.
Tell us what music you listen to.
Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

Hello and welcome Tony.
Geoff.
Hi from the Bay. That Garrard is quite a looker - is the plinth Macrocarpa?

Welcome to AOS Tony

Welcome to AoS Tony.
Nice introduction. It's always gratifying to hear from an audio enthusiast who is satisfied with their system and are thus free from "upgradeitis".
Lovely work on the Garrard by the way. I love the black finish (as I do the hammer-finish grey of the early 301s, but I don't like the cream paint of the later 301s though).
What are your musical tastes?
Welcome again and enjoy the Forum
Regards
Barry
