A friend of mine in the hi-fi/hi-end business here in Sofia had told me about the Caiman DAC and had praised it vastly. These days he drew my attention to the Beresford Capella after I shared with him my desire to get a good headphone amp. I need such an amp because I got the Philips Fiedelio X2 headphones as a Christmas gift (to be received soon).
Any idea, folks, of the possible strengths of a Fiedelio X2 - Capella combination? I have a good hi-fi setup but I am new in the headphone department. So far have only been using Koss Porta Pro to listen to music from my telephone in the Metro on the way to work.
Tell people about myself and the music I like? OK, I am 60, grew up with the music of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones first - largely banned by the communists in the 1960s, but we managed to get hold of recordings etc. - and the Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin etc. after that (later the regime relaxed its grip on this kind of music).
In February this year (2014) my wife and I had a great time - saw and heard Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones for the first time. Had never had the chance previously, went to Abu Dhabi especially for the concert. Apart from hard rock and similar styles, I also listen to classical music and jazz. My country (Bulgaria) may not be the greatest in the EU and in the world in many respects but it is famous for a large number of supreme opera voices (Boris Christoff, Nicolai Ghiaurov, Nicola Ghiuselev, Ghena Dimitrova, Raina Kabaivanska, Alexandrina Pendachanska ...), as well as for the Kavarna Rock Fest, the Ronnie James Dio Monument and the July Morning tradition (see Wikipedia).
Hope this is enough for now.
Best wishes to everybody for health, peace and divine music throughout the New Year!
