I have always admired Shirley's vocal ability and the power of her voice

And what a career in the music industry

A friend of mine once told me that back in the 50's he was at a bar in london, next to him was this very nervous young slip of a girl who asked him to clap for her when she'd done her turn on stage. He said sure. Well, she knocked the room sideways, everyone clapped afterwards. She bought him a drink and he took her home.... Twas ol Shirley.... mad.

I agree; she was and still is amazing. I have quite a few of her records (almost all LPs). They are great.
