Dang it! My Reso-Mat arrived today!

My Reso-Mat arrived today. Several days ahead of scheduled delivery :steam: :wah: Why am I upset? I just tore down my Techie for a little work on the tonearm. If they had kept to their word and delivered it next week like they said, my deck would be up and running and I could try out my new "toy" right away :rolleyes: Oh well, better early than late. I guess I should give the chaps over at Transfiaudio points for getting it out quickly. Good work guys :D
Hmm, I wonder how the Reso-Mat would work on one of my lesser Technics decks :hmm:

I finally got to give my Reso-Mat a spin last night and I like it. The mats I had used previously are the stock Technics rubber mat, a cork/rubber mat, dots consisting of thin anti-static foam & cork, and my last experiment, a DIY mat of 1/4" thick acrylic. The Resomat is a step above them all. I could only do some low volume listening but the main thing I heard, or didn't hear, was a quieter background. A lot of background sounds & harmonics that I just didn't hear before were now presenting themselves. Not louder mind you, but more like listening late at night when the house is quieter. My Techie has a pretty well damped platter and a well damped tonearm so I wasn't expecting a huge improvement but I think I've found the mat I'll be using for quite a while ;)

Today being my day off, I'll get a chance to give the volume a twist and get a really good listen in :D

Aye, I use one and like it also. Another bonus is I now have no static problems..

I bought one to fit to my PL-71. It's still buried in a box somewhere. I've never used it. I might try and find it and give it a try on the Technics.
