Hi all,
I'm Paolo from Milan, Italy.
Recently moved from interest for home theatre to hifi (also reminding my father's system when I was young...).
Unfortunately I also relocated and my living room is small and badly built, so I'm trying to enlarge it to enjoy my music at best (fortunately my neighbours are a young music loving couple and a 100 years old lady...so I can play with the system...heheh)

Here's my loved stuff:

Preamp: Emotiva USP-1
Power amp: Emotiva XPA-200
DAC: Cambridge Audio DAC Magic
Turntable: Project Debut with Goldring Elektra
Phono: Project Phono Box
CD: Cambridge Audio Azur 550C
Tuner: Marantz Model 2100 (similar to the one we had when I was a kid and that we traded for our first CD player...)
Speakers: Monitor Audio Silver 8
Subwoofer: Monitor Audio BR W10 (the only piece of my previous MA Bronze 5.1 set that I didn't trade in for the Silver 8)
Cables: VDH Integration Hybrid, The Sub, The Digicoupler, QED Reference Audio 40, Supra USB 2.0 A-B
Laptop: Asus (connected via DAC)

Also this new set in my bedroom (still making it):

Integrated Tube amp: YAQIN T-6P3P (my first tube ever!!!!) still on the way
Speakers: KEF Q300

In the bedroom it will be connected with the iPod and the tablet but of course most of the fun will be to mix and compare with other amp and speakers.

Ciao!

Hello Paolo. Welcome to AOS.

That's a good collection of Hi-Fi you have. Perhaps you can put some photos in our Gallery section.

Tell us what music you play.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

Thanks guys! :)
I'll post pics soon

I have very variable and open taste: usually rock, metal, rock classics, hip hop, r'n'b, acid jazz and jazz. But depending on my mood also classic, lounge, electronic and a bit of latino.
Long story short, almost everything apart from opera, pop and Italian melodic :)

Ciao, Paulo. Spero che tutto è bene a Milano. Che bel posto! I miei genitori vengono da Toscana, vicino a Lucca :)

Anyway, welcome to AoS. Hope you enjoy the forum. Could you also please post the picture of your wonderful system in our Gallery section? Grazie molto. Spero che la tua serata è molto piacevole

Marco.

Thanks guys!
Moving to a new country and home, I hope I will be able to make a more proper setup of all the items which, I believe, is the main weakness today.
Cheers

Marco,
la zona di Lucca è molto bella. Come tutta la toscana! Ottimo cibo, ottimo vino, bella natura,...
Buona domenica

Now that is an upgrade from your first system!! What's that Iron Maiden record on the shelf, looks early but I thought I knew most of their early stuff?

Thanks (in a month or so...you will see the speakers upgrade and then...rest!).
The Maiden's one is surely old (I had almost everything when I was young since they were my favourite group): it's the Wolrd Slavery Tour, live at Hammersmith in '84.
Probably the best of their bootlegs I ever heard in terms of recording quality, even if the one I love most is from World Piece Tour '93

I thought it must be a bootleg. I had a world piece tour double LP bootleg but wasn't that '84? Horrible recording must have been mono from the back of the venue and i hated listening to it, i eventually sold it to a dealer. When I bought it there was also a Killers tour double album which looked official. I noticed on my killers LP cover there is what looks like a blacked out area where I can just make out writing about a live album so I'm guessing it was an EMI release that got withdrawn. I kicked myself for years for not buying it as I've never seen another one.

Oh yes, my bad: I meant 1983.
And sure, recording is horrible but the start with that magnificent piece....
