What is the chances :(... I just said in a post that his mad dogs tour is a great record. Joe was one of my hero's and had a fantastic voice. RIP Joe; and will dig out Mad dogs tomorrow for a play.

Just working on the obit for tomorrows Daily Express, well the picture side. I had a request for some Grease Band stuff for the show, so will do a full appreciation. I'm really sad to hear about this, met him many times, great guy and a fine, fine singer.

Only just heard! Very sad news - his version of 'With a little Help From My Friends' defined 1968 for me, along with the Doors's 'Light My Fire'.

Well no mystery as to what I shall be playing tonight.

RIP Joe.

Not a great at all, but solemness all the same.

I agree. the word 'great' is bandied around too much. However, I did enjoy a few of his songs and it is certainly sad that he has died too young. Maybe his gravelly voice and the lung cancer are not unconnected.

Yes. I wasn't a fan, but it's still sad he's gone.

From my home town of Sheffield... A great steel singer.
