Up for sale is my Puresound A30 class A integrated amp, later version with the valve cage. This is a superb sounding amp, only selling as it doesn't quite have enough power under dynamic swings for my insensitive, low impedance Maggies (83 db sensitivity and 4 ohms).
It's pretty neutral for a valve amp but also has sprinkling of valve magic too. Unusually it has rectifier and choke filtering for cleaner treble, which is amazing for the price. It sounds a lot cleaner in the treble than many tube amps IMO. It has switches for UL/triode mode for ultimate flexibility.
Please note that this is not the same amp as the Bewitch 6550 class AB amp made in the same factory, as that amp uses a different circuit and different, inferior parts. Output trannies are of different of better spec in the Puresound and it has select carbon film resistors in key positions and very high quality popyprop caps. So it's a totally different, superior amp.
The fitted tubes are EH ones but the amp also comes with an whole extra set of tubes and a couple more. The extra output tubes are the superb Svetlana 6550 winged Cs (these retail at £60 each as they are discontinued) and some quality input and driver USA Tungsol tubes (which I think are NOS types from the 1960s). Putting this set of tubes in slightly darkens the sound and gives a smoother, more musical character IMO, so they are very useful to have. These extra tubes have got to be £250 worth at least so grab a bargain.
Selling the amp for what it cost me at £725. Would prefer pick up from Marylebone, London but can post in the UK at post.
