wanted tuner in vgc please

im looking to buy a tuner please , and didnt want to go the e bay route,and dont want to spend too much , just wondered if anyone was considering selling one, brand not too important as long as it gives good reception and is in good condition has a remote if it was supplied with one, aerial in tact , black if possible , not a midi size, i can collect if youre in south yorkshire otherwise would have to be posted , would rather have a seperate than a tower shop item which has been split

Hi Craig. Tuners generally come with either just FM reception or AM and FM, there are some that offer extra bands. Many will have a small aerial on the back for AM reception, but if you're looking for high quality sound, you need FM. This will really require a separate aerial. If you're in a good reception area, you may get away with a cheap ribbon aerial (as I do) just pinned up on the wall. In Sheffield you may well be OK, but a bit further out in the sticks you need a proper diplole aerial in the loft or on the roof, though sometimes a ribbon aerial with a signal booster works. All depends on local signal strength.

many thanks everyone for replying , i have had an offer of an acram tuner from a kind forum member for free , sorry i havent replied to pm,s i have a carpet shop and it takes a lot of time up , and i sometimes dont get chance to read all pm,s
