Very reluctant sale of these beloved Magneplanar 1.7 panel speakers. I purchased these in 2011 from Stone Audio, receipt retained, dated 07/04/2011, and paid £3000 plus. In May 2014 I moved from London to Devon, renovated my garage to a music room, unfortunately these Maggies really can do with more length in a room. I cannot use my main living room..wife uses this to watch her TV !!!!

I have managed to procure a pair of Neat Petite III, and gravits subs....this will never replace the fantastic sound stage of the Maggies, not even the mid range, and top.

NB:: please note in pic, there are some tears to the grill cover, the ribbon is not damaged, I suspect that this was done by our cat....She never went near them again !!!!!...the speaker is not damaged.

I did replace the standard fuses with gold ones. These speakers are in excellent working condition. I really would prefer collection from Torquay, however I have retained the packaging..and will post in UK ( If collecting, I am sure we can arrange a reduction in your fuel costs) I am a genuine hifi addict !!!!

1,700

many thanks.

Also there is a REL sub, can throw that in if wanted.

Bank transfer would be acceptable.

Also, is that your ebay ad and pics, Tim? If not, we need you to provide your own pictures of the *actual* items for sale.

If they are your pics, then we need you to post them here, directly, without any links to ebay.

Ta! :)

Marco.

Thanks for that, Tim. Do remember next time you’re selling something that links to pics are not permitted; they must be posted directly onto the thread concerned, and included at the same time as the ad is submitted. Cheers!

Afternoon, Geoff.

The speakers are now Neat Petite III, with their matching Gravitas Sub enclosures. Fantastic sounding things!

My Dad's lovely Emille KI-40L has unfortunately become faulty again! (Please don't ask)

The KI-40L is a big amp! It is a dual mono (KT-77) push-pull design, and supports a chunky power supply. This beast weighs in at nearly 40kg

At the moment he is trying my Sugden A21a integrated. The sound is OK. But I can hear the Sugden is not providing enough power & current for the Neats. Perhaps the Sugden from the Master Class series could suffice!

He has also tried his Neats with a big Teac amp. But he doesn't like that amp very much, and now it currently lives in the rejected pile :D

I remember you mentioning the Teac. I didn't think that would stay the course. Try a big Quad (with a good pre), you may be amazed! Or if you've got a few quid to spend, take a look at Karan amps maybe. Powerful, beautifully made and great sound. Not cheap though.

Something like this?

Check out the reviews.

The specs from the Karan amps look very impressive and competitive. I remember seeing the ''integrated version'' that was for sale a couple months ago.

I phoned Bob @ Neat, asking him for some amplifier suggestions. He mentioned 2 integrated amps... Exposure 3010S2 & Naim Super Nait 2. But the Naim flavour doesn't seen to satisfy my Dad :D

The Exposure will be going on the list, not the Naim.

Finding an amp to replace the KI-40L is going to be a bit tough!!

One of these is surprising me (in a good way ;)) at the moment ... http://www.soundsliveshop.com/p/Crown_XLS1500_DriveCore_Power_Amplifier/CROWN-XLS1500?CAWELAID=1830890759&CAGPSPN=pla&gclid=COqepZO4i8MCFW3ItAodFF8A-w

Zero audiophile cred, but the sound is very good and 300wpc should grab the Neats by the g**lies. :eyebrows:

I'd take it over a Karan 180 any day. Not impressed with the Karan, me.

Ordered an exposure 3010 S2D...improved pre amp section. I am impressed with Shanes Sugden, very good with vinyl.

That vile Teac amp has been used as part exchange, have learned my lesson....despite looking at reviews for the Teac which were positive......in future demand a return plan from any seller. As for the Emile valve amp, think I will sell it, pref to someone who knows about valve amps, etc...I really cannot be bothered with keeping a valve amp...the maintenance, knowledge etc..pitya lovely amp
