Hi there folks... Long time lurker and thought it was about time I said hello.
My system is:
Digital source: Transporter - all music stored on vortexbox in Flac format.
Analogue source: technics 1210 mk2/Denon dl110/achromat/project phono box ii
Amp: simaudio moon I-5
Speakers: dynaudio focus 220/kimber 4tc
I love all types of music... Listen to older/classical music on vinyl. More modern beats driven music on the transporter.
I have just come into a load of free classical vinyl so enjoying what that has to offer.
I think my next step on upgrade path is to replace the project phono box ii. Any advice on that greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to getting involved ;)

Welcome Toby. Sounds like a nice system you have there. Not tried a pb2 but there are plenty of options depending on what you want. Probably best to start a separate thread for that in blank canvas. Also if you can, pop a few pic's into the gallery section of your system. ...We like pictures

Thanks Grant,
Will try and get a photo up in next few days. Really pleased with my system in general, only just started to get back into vinyl. I sold my rega p3 about 6 years ago and went digital. Just rediscovering the delights vinyl has to offer with the technics deck... Thankfully I kept all the music!

Hi Toby, welcome to AoS.
Always glad to welcome a 'lurker' into the fold :) What took you so long?
Congratulations on recently coming into a "load of free classical vinyl". What have you got? We have a separate section where you can post about the classical music you listen to.
Enjoy the forum, now that you have joined you can participate more fully!
Regards
Barry

I think you are on the right track regarding upgrades. I have had that combo of DL110 and Project. Actually it was the Project TubeBox I had. Overwhelmingly the worst hi-fi purchase I ever made. I upgraded to the ifi iphono. I still have the DL110 and iphono on my 2nd TT (a SL1200 Mk2) - a fabulous combo! I have developed a theory that the ifi goes well with Denon because I have heard it pushing a Denon DL103 as well, again with great boogie. I would put the ifi and Rothwell on a shortlist. Come to think of it, have you seen Firebottle of this parish? I have not heard his phono stage but everyone gives it rave reviews and I suspect it will survive a couple of cartridge upgrades.
Another classical fan here. I find vinyl - actually any format - struggles a bit with dense orchestral music. But chamber music on vinyl is just heaven.
So please throw your oar in - and by the way there only one ding-dong on this forum: he goes by the name of Marco. Feel free to insult him as much as you like.
Now, more important: City or United? just kidding.
