I do like Nottingham Analogue turntables. A lot of thought goes into their designs and they work!

Something nice I hope.......I just got a santa stage myself for a second system, and it was surprisingly good for so little cash. A Nott Sp deserves the best; lovely deck.

Hi Alan, please don't EVER call your system 'humble!!!!!' because it's bloody good regardless of the badges on the front!

I'm only butting in because the phono stage in the 99, which I'm told *should* be similar to that in the previous 77 preamp, is actually a highly musical and versatile one. With respect, I do feel that many of the add-on phono stages may not add anything other than a 'difference' in tone. Up to you sir and apologies for mentioning it. Good luck in your quest - oh, and where the 909 is concerned, Dada Electronics is your friend for future 'possibilities.' ;)


P.S. The Intro's perhaps should have been the thing to change - if you see some Arriva's at a fair price, change to these or even better, SBLmk2's, which sound great with a big hearted amp such as yours I remember :)

I have to thoroughly agree here with Dave. I have had numerous Exposure pre-amps and the phono stage on board them matched if not bettered my stand alone silly money units. You may not want to try the on board phono stage in your Quad pre-amp as it may well make you feel as if you have wasted a lot of money.

Hi Alan, always had a soft spot for Nottingham Analogue, I met Tom Fletcher once his obsession with materials for his turntables and how they affected the sound was I am sure for some was quite eccentric but the sound quality is hard to ignore !
