Nad cassette deck now £51 !!

crazy prices on ebay with 2 days to go a nad cassette deck is standing at £51 ! Surely that's crazy money for a 2 head old cassette deck ?

Price's always seem to boom at this time of year, I guess because everyone wants new toys at xmas (of which I am guilty!). If you can wait until mid January / February you'll find plenty of bargains on eBay as lots of people are skint after xmas.

You'd think so given that not many use cassettes these days, but still, some do. I did have a Nad 6040A, which had amazing clarity and a superb low end, great for organ music.

Yes, so I believe. I sold one for just over £10 to someone in the UK.
Re. cassette decks, I still use mine from time to time.
It is an ex. broadcast Denon 790R prof. model which is superbly built and sounds exceptionally good. They were nearly £800 (!) plus VAT when new.
I am a great believer in prof. kit. I own a prof. Tascam CD player/recorder and Minidisc machine.
The minidisc on SP record/playback is superb.
You genuinely cannot hear the difference between source and replay on lots of material.

I am a little 'odd' in the Hi Fi world as I record music as well as run a PA system. A friend runs a big Turbosound PA rig and also recorded professionally and I've been influenced a lot by him.
Many in the prof. audio world find Audiophiles somewhat amusing with their ( sometimes) rather obsessive ways when it comes to cables, etc.
