:) Many thanks Dave... with the fantastic help/suggestion by Geoff/Walpurgis, I've purchased a Monarchy Audio SM-70 Pro direct from the manufacturers in the US...


Which pre-amp would you use with this Dave and would it drive my Harbeth P3s?

I ran this with my Croft Micro 25 Basic and the combination was very good indeed... so any of the Croft pre's come recommended by me...

Hi Pete, I'm interested, my speakers are a 6ohm load so I presume your amp will be fine with them?

I drive mine with a BTE passive, I reckon you'd get excellent results with a valve pre though and possibly a little more 'drive' too ;)

Thanks Dave, Croft and Harbeth seem to be a good match though I've had a Micro Basic with phono before and couldn't get on with it down to the dual volume pots.

Bit of a following on The Wam Dave however there is a beautiful valve pre on here, the consonence (sp) valve pre.

The Monarchy Audio stuff seems very rare these day Dave. I've had it permanently on my eBay watchlist (along with a few other names) for the last few years and hardly anything comes along. Specialist second hand Hi-Fi dealers are probably a better source.
