Stick or twist?

The reason for the cards analogy is that I have some decsions to make, and not knowing the value of the components concerned is proving difficult. When I say value, I mean in terms of the integrity of the equipment. Trouble is, most need attention, and it is both the likely cost and the scarcity of places round here that could do the work required,
Firstly, I had better list what I have and what problems some have.
By the way, all fairly dated stuff.

Toshiba SR-Q660 direct drive quartz lock turntable, moving magnet. All original and working.
Pair Celestion SL6 speakers, one base driver gone wooly.
Sony TA-F444ESX integrated amp.. Just popped loudly one day when powered on and thats all it will do now. Lifted lid, no scorches, no overheat smells, no obviously distorted capacitors..Lid back on and retired it.
Sony CDP 715E CD player, all original and working.
Toshiba ST 335 tuner, all original and working fine.
Pair Kef Cresta 2, no problems.
Sony amp-pre amp combo, SC335 power amp hard wired to SY335 pre-amp. gone silent, no hiss crackles or popping. Retired.
So of course turntable has not been used for a while, but its time we listened again to some vinyl, so have ordered ( bearing in mind very limited budget and space) a Muse S7 T-amp 80WPC and a Behringer PP400 pre-amp, will use the Cresta 2s for this set up.
Looking at some of the equipment you have here, I feel a bit like I have turned up at a MaClaren F1 convention in a ford escort witha dodgy gearbox!

Hi Chris. I reckon that 'Ford Escort' combo will sounnd just fine. Shame about all the dead amps, it really is hard to make a decision re fixing them since they will not fetch a massive amount of cash even when working and fault finding can get expensive if it is not something obvious. I'd sell 'em for spares or repair.

Thanks Martin, nice to have a bit of reassurance froma knowledgeable quarter.
The Tosh amps only really have sentimental value, so not hard to let go, but the Sony was reckoned to be one of the finest made by them and its the ESX whereas most you will see around are ES. But I guess a repair could cost more than its worth, so agreed.
Intrigued by the reports on the T-amps though, and Muse are reckoned to be decent.

if you can locate an electronics engineer with time on his hands get him to have a look at the ESX - the fault may be something simple. Worth twenty quid to find out. In the meantime, enjoy your vinyl. :)

The sony is pretty much a TA-F7000ES(different badge for different country I think) and worth ... 150/ maybe more so worth fixing if not going to cost a fortune and is otherwise in good nick. they were pretty good if memory serves.

My son lives in leeds so a choice of audio engineers, unlike here, Irony is, he works for Sony, but in mobile communications, but he is putting out feelers for sony audio engineers who might help too. If he finds someone he can deal with it over there.
Pretty much fixed now on the Toshiba turntable, T-amp oh, and a Behringer PP400 to connect it to the amp. The sony bluray player and TV will connected too. Probably all for now.
Sticking with the Kef Cresta2s , wanted smaller speakers, but hard to find any that can get near the Cresta specs. Hoping they will perform OK on wall brackets.
I was wondering, does anyone know about this turntable, I alway thought it was fine, but am no judge really. I did have a beautiful Goldring Lehnco deck, forgotten the exact model, the tapered cone drive. Mint condition. I had it tucked away for when I got a nice system together, found out much later my wife had kindly donated it to mother in law for use in the church hall overs sixties dances........ Never saw it again.... Ah well. Probably btter than the dansette they were using before....

any ideas of what to price them at? Fair to good condition with full covers etc. too heavy to post really.Courier would be £20 plus I think.
