Ok here is a cheap as chips system, £80 all in, that's just £20 per item :eek:

From the top it's an RS-635 cassette deck, SU-2800 Integrated amplifier, plus an SU-2800L three band tuner:

Also included is an SL-H304 TT, with a new drive belt. The sound from this is remarkably good.

Turns out the platter is a Techie; looking at the bottom of the platter:

I have fitted a new tape head to the cassette deck as the original was quite worn. Internals of cassette deck:

Now the amplifier doesn't seem a bad jobbie for the time. There is precious little info on t'web but I guess it's a 25 watter, using a Sanken(?) module:

The in built phono circuit even uses a discrete input stage in front of a very average op-amp, giving a low noise level:

Internals of the amplifier show quite a large void where presumably extra heatsinking would go on higher power versions:

Will travel a little distance for delivery, come on anyone with a younster who wants a starter system?
