strange hum

I have fitted a 20 Red to Mt sl1210 when I cue up a record when touching the headshell I get a hum when I remove my hand the hum go's any ideas all lead connections are good on the headshell

It's a grounding issue and is how the arm tube is grounded to your decks chassis, or not, and how that relates to the rest of the systems signal ground and the mains earth. You will have to experiment with making and lifting the arms earth and connecting it to various points.
