Resurrecting An Old Skill

As we are now deep into winter and I just can't get out doing the things I want to do due to weather and dark nights etc I'm thinking about getting back into painting and drawing, which I havn't touched for more than 25 years

At one point I wasn't too bad at it so I thought I'd try agian and see how I get on...

Just need to find a local supplier of good paints, brushes and all sorts of other paraphernalia... and see how I get on.. if I'm c**p then I won't carry on but you never know until you try...

My 'arty' times seemed to cease when I 'got into' boy's and all that stuff :doh:

Funny you should bring that up. I have a large stock of oil, acrylic and water paints, plus cavasses and hard paper sheets and yet just don't get around to art any more. I was a pretty decent artist.

I used to watch Bob Ross on TV and was fascinated by the techniques he used. I bought a few bits with his name on and some canvasses then had a dabble. Results were pretty good, although I did have a few "happy accidents" along the way :lol: Wouldn't say his methods were the best, but maybe he inspired a few people to at least have a go.

Used to dabble myself, have a few of my bits n bobs hanging up around the house.

More into digital art nowadays, but keep meaning to get back into drawing.

Is there a branch of The Range near you, Bev? Although their primary function is selling tat to chavs, they have an unexpectedly good artist supplies department.

Funny you should mention The Range Shane as that's exactly were I thought about buying supplies from. I doubt whether it's the best quality but that doesn't really matter for a first dabble... I have a Range not very far from me too.. thanks
