[B]Hi, Paul here, yet another MDAC owner from Sheffield.

Current set up is Quad 989 ESL's on home made 20cm high roller stands with soon to be added steel braces (as per 2912's).
Soon to be fed from Hypex Ncore monoblocks via MDAC and eventually MDAC 2 !!

I still have all my original vinyl from my yoof, playing via Pro-ject Xperience/ carbon 9c arm rewired by myself with Cardas copper direct to Arkless modded CA 640 phono stage.

All fully balanced (bar phono) using homemade Van Damme starquad XLR mike. cable and homemade sheilded mains cable.

Musical tastes are - anything which makes my toes tap, or any other part of my anatomy !.

Greetings all. :)

Lots of them around as well Paul, and they are very good. There are a number of threads on it if you do a search. Or you could contact the maker by pm if you want one.

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum. It does seem that Firebottle phono stages are spreading like wildfire.

Welcome to AoS Paul,

Whilst the Firebottle phonostageis gaining a following, your Arkless-modified Cambridge Audio 640 phonostage is also well regarded.

I would support you in your attempt to use fully balanced analogue interconects as much as possible. That is my aim, though so far the only fully balanced connections are between the preamp and the power amplifiers.

Enjoy the Forum

Regards from a fellow Quad ESL user.

Hi Barry,

I believe John Westlake is also designing a phono stage, mainly for use with the MDAC2 which is to contain an ADC, thus allowing digitization of vinyl in DSD.
So the market should become interesting.

Knowing John his phono stage will be fully balanced, he was the person who converted me to the benefits of fully balanced audio.

Which ESL are you using ?.

Cheers Paul.
