Sadly due to bad news today re my employment status I need to move this CD player on. Not owned it long having bought it from Steve (Accudazed) a relatively short time ago. Still not really had a listen to it.

As his listing was so good, I can't add to it, I am going to re use it. Condition is as Steve described it.

I am going to sell it for what I paid Steve £1000 (including the spare laser) postage at cost UK only or if you wish to arrange your own courier that's fine. Local pick up is also welcome. Payment via bank transfer only. This is a bottom line price so I won't be selling it for less further down the road.

Regards Neil

Steve's original listing.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~
'My Accuphase DP-57 CD player is for sale. Included with the player are the comprehensive owner's manual, remote control, safety information, power lead, sale's brochure and original box.
Also included is a brand new and genuine replacement Sony laser (still in its sealed bag). SO NO LASER WORRIES FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER 25 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!:)
This CD player cost around £3000 back in the mid 'noughties'.
The CD player is in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically. There are no scratches, chips, dings, etc. The laser always reads CDs first time - I have never had any skips, sound dropouts, failure to read discs, etc, etc. It has performed faultlessly from day one unlike every other CD player I have had.
Build quality is as good as I have seen on any CD player, ever - fit, paint, anodising, beautifully laid out circuit boards, absence of component clutter (take note Esoteric...), steel CD tray, solid switches, etc, etc. are all superb. Naturally, in true Accuphase style, the DP-57 is a substantial weighty - 26lbs - piece of kit that will last and last.
It's a versatile piece of kit too. Whilst the DP-57 can be used as a regular CD player, the transport and DAC can be used independently. Plug in a TV or PC for example and use the superb built in DAC or upgrade the sound quality of the player by connecting a separate DAC (you will need to spend a lot of money though...). Speaking of DACs, the DP-57 has four of them as well as full digital control of the CD mechanism, 24 bit resolution, balanced drive circuitry for the servo motors, digital level control and two sets of balanced and unbalanced analogue output connectors (including coaxial and optical).
Accuphase have a superb website which, amongst other things, provides lots of information on their DP-57. This can be accessed here:
Here's some reviews on the DP-57 from the web:
Sound quality
Never mind all of the above, how does the DP-57 sound? I mean, that's what matters the most.
The DP-57 is totally neutral in the way it reproduces what is on the disc. Every last detail on the disc is reproduced in a wide and deep soundstage. If you want a particular 'flavour' added to your music then this machine is not for you. Think of the DP-57 as a super accurate precision instrument that gives you exactly what is on the disc and you are basically there. Deep powerful bass, crystal clear cymbal decay, full expressive vocals, the piercing notes of electric guitars, the sharp 'plink' of a grand piano etc, etc. are all there, faithfully reproduced in a way which makes most other CD players fake a laser failure and climb back into their boxes.
Seriously though, this is one hell of a CD player and if you are looking for a final silver disc spinner then this is a pretty good place to start.'
Thanks for looking!'
Update 08/01/2015
I have been asked if this is a UK model and asked to prove it. Yes it is, 230 V and supplied to the UK distributor RT Services. Below there are two photos of the box to prove this, first voltage and second packing slip from RT Services to Audio Republic.
Sorry to hear your bad news Neil.
Lovely, highly capable hi-end player that should be the last CDP one would ever need.
As its too close to Christmas now to organise shipping (a friend has done this for me in the past) and I am reluctant to use Parcel Force during the Christmas period the sale is suspended until after Christmas (New Year)
As I don't want it smashed in transit I feel this is the safest course of action.
The sale interest may be removed because of this decision so it may be back up for sale. Frankly I would rather lose the sale, than gain it and the CD player end up destroyed in the Christmas tidal wave of roughly handled parcels.
Watch this space for whether this is still on hold or up for sale again.
Very wise, Neil.
It's a lovely cd player.
I've heard this model and it certainly ticks all of the boxes of punchy, clean and dynamic. It really portrays the music perfectly with no harshness. That quality for me is king.
Comes with a new laser too. That will last for a bonkers amount of time. Someone will be very pleased with this player. Or, maybe you neil can keep hold of it.
I wish you the best in whatever decision you make.
Person originally interested has withdrawn their request for me to hold it. So technically back up for sale, but not till the new year.
