New tonearm help

I've got a slight problem with mounting a new tonearm on SL1210.
The mounting plate I bought off this forum doesn't seem thick enough, I think the plate isn't the problem, it seems the same thickness as sounds supports one I've had before, it's more the thread on the tonearm doesn't go far enough the shaft.
How do I rectify this? is there an extra thick tonearm base, or can I just use some washer(s) between the nut and armboard?

You need a 24mm washer. How's the VTA? The Michell VTA + Nut kit will fit an Audiomods, but the threads need to be lubricated. Aluminium on aluminium is a bad combination (from Jeff Audiomods himself)

*I try to stick a compliant layer in there, just something that will 'nip up' otherwise you can get carried away tightening. Add a cardboard washer if you can't find a locking/serrated one.

I found a serrated washer on another arm, thanks for the help.
