Did some of Sony's big ES integrated amps ever come with a remote?

Yup , most of them I believe . I'm sure some of the experts on here will be along to confirm or deny this . James ( isitari knight ) is a bit of an expert on Sony ES amps . I'm currently looking for a remote for my Sony TA F770ES amp . They seem to be rare as hens teeth .

It's very good indeed Shane . One of the best , if not the best , amps I've ever owned .

The 770ES had a remote (All 3 of mine I have had came with one), IIRC, the 670ES did not.

You may find that any/most Sony remote controls will work, at least for volume setting.
I've found that the remote for my dvp controls volume on all the amps I've tried it with and its a doddle to program too.

Not with the TA-F770ES, it seems! I have tried a few, without success. There's a genuine RM-S703 on German eBay at the moment for €90! Generic programmable remotes are probably the best way forward.

Yup , I've tried several remotes with the 770ES and none work . I thought I had sourced one from Barcelona however that and its replacement didn't work either . Any suggestions for one to try would be most welcome Hugo . £90 is a bit rich for me I'm afraid .

Sony remote controls are interchangeable between amp's built from around '98 onwards... Unfortunately the same cannot be said of the slightly older amps which appear to use different IR protocols.
All IME:
770ES, 870ES, 707ES, 808ES, 3ES, 5ES & 7ES remotes are compatible with each other.
370/730/740/920/930/940R, 30ES/50ES/70ES, 777ES are compatible with eachother

This is my first post...............I have Sony TA-F444ESX and the original remote which controls everything..............Downside. It died a year ago, just a loud pop on power on then silence.. Very reluctant to get rid, but dread repair cost, even if I could find someone capable.
Not seen as many ESX around as ES in general.
